Why did you choose the IT industry?

After completing my degree in Print and Media Technology, it was clear to me that I wanted to continue my career in the field of digital technologies. I have always been fascinated by the combination of creativity, technology, and the opportunities offered by digital solutions. My first job was with a software provider for publishing solutions. Through customer projects and involvement in product development, I quickly realized that this intersection perfectly matched my interests. I enjoyed understanding complex requirements and developing solutions together with clients, creating not just a technical implementation, but real added value. This combination of technology, creativity, and collaboration has shaped my path in IT.

How did you end up at exccon?

My contact with exccon came through a colleague I met during a professional development course and later worked with on projects. He brought the open position to my attention.  The timing was perfect because I was ready for a career change. The role sounded exciting, the first interview was very positive, and I decided to accept the offer.

What do you like about exccon?

From day one, I have felt a great sense of trust and genuine appreciation at exccon. The management team is open, supportive, and always takes the time for questions or feedback. This creates an environment where people enjoy contributing and working together as a team.

What do yo u value about your colleagues and your team?

What I particularly value about my team is the diversity. We bring different experiences, perspectives, and skills, both personally and professionally, which makes collaboration both enriching and successful.

How was your start in your new job? How did your first days with the exccon team go?

My start at exccon was very positive. I immediately felt welcome, truly part of the team and trusted right from the start. At the same time, I had a dedicated contact person by my side who I could turn to with questions and who supported me as I got up to speed on new topics. Although I worked remotely from the beginning,  I never felt left on my own. Regular communication and strong support from colleagues helped me settle in quickly.

How do you balance family and career? How does exccon support you in this?

This was a particularly important point for me. Flexible working hours, coordinated with customer needs, and the option to work from home make everyday life much easier. exccon provides the conditions that allow me to combine work and family life successfully, especially with a young child.

What does a typical workday look like for you?

As Project Manager and Service Coordinator, I work in both projects and operational services. I coordinate activities, keep track of the progress, align with various stakeholders, and help to ensure that our services are delivered efficiently and to a high standard. A large part of my day involves communication, coordination, and problem solving with clients, colleagues, and various teams. I see myself as a bridge, bringing information together, driving topics forward, and finding solutions with everyone involved. No two days are the same. There are planned tasks, but also situations where you have to react quickly and find a solution together. It is exactly this mix of organization, communication, and problem-solving that makes my job so exciting.

The proportion of women in the IT industry is still low. Do you feel well supported as a woman at exccon?

Yes, absolutely. At exccon, people are defined by their skills, experience, and the contribution you make to the team - not by gender. I have never felt treated or judged differently by my managers or my colleagues. Thanks to the open and respectful culture at exccon, equality is a natural part of the company culture.
