Teamlead & Capability Lead ITSM
How did you come to exccon?
Before I joined exccon, I worked closely with colleagues from exccon on the client side for several years. In doing so, I got to know and to appreciate my colleagues and the exccon approach - and therefore, I decided to join exccon as employee.
What do you like about exccon and what do you appreciate about your colleagues?
I like working in a company with flat structures and a manageable team size. exccon is a bit like a family - I like this! The exccon approach is constructive and solution-oriented. Furthermore, I appreciate the good atmosphere in the team, the friendly interaction with each other, the good cooperation with colleagues and the spirit of partnership.
You are employed as Teamlead & Capability Lead ITSM. Can you tell us a bit more about what you do and what you like about your job?
In addition to my role as Team Lead, I primarily work as a project manager or business analyst on projects for international customers, focusing on ServiceNow implementations for various modules. I like the variety of topics and tasks in my job - every project, every implementation and every customer is different. That wayThat´s why I don't get bored, I constantly learn new things and develop myself.
exccon has an international team. What do you learn from colleagues from other cultures? What is it like to work together?
In development, I work a lot with our colleagues from different cultural backgrounds and our Romanian partner company - and I enjoy this work in an international team. German-English interaction is often fun and has good learning effects for everyone. In addition, we have regular contacts with customers in other regions of the world during the projects. iIt is exciting to see how people in other cultures work and it is interesting to learn about the many differences. It broadens my horizon!
What is important to you as a team lead?
As a team leader, I make it a priority to listen carefully to my team, offer support, and work together to find solutions to challenges. Our teams are relatively small, but highly specialized and international. I know that my colleagues sometimes know significantly more about their areas of expertise than I do. Through regular dialogue, we can learn new things from one another and continue to grow. In a team, we should be responsive to one another and take an interest in each other - which also includes discussing topics beyond work. It is important to me to treat colleagues with respectful honesty.
Which advice do you have for job applicants?
In the first interview, we usually begin with a brief overview of the key points in the candidate’s resume after the introduction. It’s important that candidates remain authentic and don’t try to put on a facade. I get a good sense of this when the candidates describe specific examples from their professional experience. The focus is mainly on how they approached problems and how they were solved. In interviews, I often ask about the biggest professional challenge they’ve faced so far and how they overcame it.
Describe your job in 3 words.
Understand, plan, do.
